The island of St. Maarten, located in the northern part of the ridge of the Eastern Caribbean islands, long known for its international airport, Princess Juliana. It is located in close proximity to the resort Maho Beach, so the local beach wits have dubbed "the world's best place to monitor the aircraft." The aircraft was landing from the sea, flying a motor road, almost touching the car and immediately get on the runway. The length of the runway here is about 2130 meters. For aircraft like the Boeing 747 that was not enough, but another airport, able to take large ships on the island of St. Maarten is not.
