You'll find a myriad of light switches on the first overhead panel. There is also one more light switch on the second radio stack near the rudder trim knob. Keep in mind that some of the light switches will not actually light up anything within FS. </b></font></p> <p> </p> <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>EXTERIOR LIGHTING</b></font></p> <p><img border="0" src="images/light_mouse.jpg" width="22" height="21"> </p> <p><b><font face="Verdana" size="2">The light panel is opened with the light bulb button just below the clock. The panel will then appear at the top of the window. If you are in an external view, you can open up the light panel in windowed mode with Shft-5.</font></b></p> <p><img border="0" src="images/lights_ext.jpg" width="618" height="84"></p> <p><b><font face="Verdana" size="2">The above is the external lighting section of the overall lighting panel. Starting from the left is your inboard and outboard landing lights. FS does not allow for more than one type of landing light, so they all get turned on at once. Moving to the right are runway turnoff lights. These lights shine off to the side of the aircraft to illuminate the runway turnoffs. MSFS does not include runway turnoff lights, so these switches do nothing. The switch marked Navigation turns on the red and green position lights on the wing. The Beacon switch turns on <u> both</u> your anti-collision and your strobe lights. And the last two switches illuminate your wing and wheel wells during ground maintenance. These switches, like the runway turnoff lights, move but do not do anything.</font></b></p> <p><b><font face="Verdana" size="2">There is no taxi light in this particular configuration. You can use your inboard landing lights.</font></b></p> <p><b><font face="Verdana" size="2">Also note that your landing lights may or may not cast beams in the main window. This requires that you have a true FS2002 727 model made with the GMax program. If you have a converted FS98 or FS2000 model converted or repainted for FS2002, you will probably not have landing lights that light up the scenery.</font></b></p> <p> </p> <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>INTERIOR LIGHTING</b></font></p> <p><img border="0" src="images/interior_lights.jpg" width="800" height="86"></p> <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Interior lighting is located on the same panel as the exterior lighting. There's quite a few switches and knobs available. Most on this panel actually do something, but some don't. </b></font></p> <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Starting from the top left, the first knob is your map light. This puts a light in your lap, but of course does nothing within FS.</b></font></p> <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>The next two knobs control your instrument back lighting. They work in unison on this panel for performance reasons; turning one on also turns the other on. Normally you would turn your flight and engine instrument lights on separately.</b></font></p> <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>The Forward Background knob turns on the incandescent background lighting.</b></font></p> <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>The Fwd Panel Fluorescent toggle switch turns on the fluorescent flood light. This is handy for pre or post flight, but you wouldn't fly with these on.</b></font><p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>The knob labeled Overhead Panel turns on the legend lighting for both overhead panels.</b></font><p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Next are two knobs for the center control stand. These lights are physically located inside the overhead panel. They shine through narrow slits down onto the radios and throttle quadrant. You have your choice between red lighting and white lighting.</b></font><p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>The Light Override switch overrides all other light switches and makes the fluorescent lights come on.</b></font><p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Next to that is the Right Fwd & Side Panel switch, which lights up the first officer's flight instruments.</b></font><p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>And the last one on this row is the first officer's map light.</b></font><p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Not illustrated above but next to the landing lights is the standby compass light. Also not illustrated is the red dome light knob. The red dome light does not put out much light, so you will not see your panel light up red.</b></font><p> <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>CENTER CONSOLE AND RADIO STACK LIGHTING</b></font><p><img border="0" src="images/console_light.jpg" width="99" height="98"><p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Your center console and radio lights get turned on with the knob located on the second radio stack next to the rudder trim knob. This lights up the lettering and radio displays only. For flood lighting, you'll have to turn on either the red or white control stand lighting located on the lighting overhead panel.</b></font><!--msnavigation--></td></tr><!--msnavigation--></table></body> </html>
