Installing instruction: 

by default all the files will be copied in 
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X  main directory

•	To install for Flight Simulator X:  just Run the included setup program. 

•	To install for Flight Simulator 2004 Century of Flight
        Run the included setup program. When you get to the "Destination
        Folder" dialog, click the 'Browse' button and locate your
        Flight Simulator 2004  folder. After instalation go in your Flight Simulator 2004\SIMOBJECTS\AIRPLANES folder and copy/paste
        all the folder and file in to your Flight Simulator 2004\Aircraft folder

        
•       To install on any Flight Simulator X: drive destination 

1) Run the included setup program. When you get to the "Destination
Folder" dialog, click the 'Browse' button and locate your
 
      Flight Simulator X  folder.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you have fs9 (fs2004) Do not forget to copy the file
Star.dat for fs9 in main fs9 directory (polaris star not present in fs9)

and
copy also
VFR Le Bourget to Republic.PLN file Locate in your Levasseur Pl8 folder

in to   c:\my dodument\folder Flight SimulatorX\ ...  for fsX 

or   c:\my dodument\folder Flight Simulator\ ...     for fs9

Special note:
to correct the trouble of the desapearing of the flight plan whene the game was saved i have incorporate in the kneeboard keypad (f10 key) the procedure for take off the flight plan and the star ephemeride
so no need to copy it !

To made the flight of Nungesser and Coli:
start the simulator, go in select one flight menue
select the flight 1927 : Nungesser and Coli, from Paris to New york


Procedure for take off and navigation:
Open the radiator flap, set your altimeter, open the Choke at 100%, put the magnetos
switch to on, and ask the mechanic to turn the propeller, after ignition warm up the
oil temp to about 100 degree, made your check list, and don't forget to switch your
fuel tank selector to center 3 tank, otherwise your center of gravity will be to much
on the back of the plane, move and align your plane whit the runway, apply full throttle
and keep a 270 degree on the compass  when the plane reach about 80 km\\h push the stick
all forward to rise the tail, at 180 km\\h take off and maintain a 3 degree on the pitch
indicator and climb at a rate of 1 m/s, don't slow under 160 km\\h, and watch for do not
hit any house or building, when you are over the Seine river drop your gear  and gradualy
raise your altitude to your pre-determinate flight plan. 

your average fuel consomation for the entire voyage must be 105.69 liter (27.92 us.gal)/hour maximum
remember you have only 3860 liter (1019 us.gallon) and you must fly 36.5 hour so keep
an eye on your fuel consomation !) Good luk !

if you whant more challenge and you feel you are a reel navigator pilot you can do all your trip
whit the navigation tool on board the Levasseur Pl8 ! 

Navigation whit the help of star:

I have incorporate in the plane some usefull tool for navigation,
an astrodome and a U.T time watch !

Here some easy and sample example you can do whit it ! 

find your latitude whit only the polaris star !

1. level your plane (put autopilot on and put inclination to 0 degree)
2. bring on the Astrodome sextant (flap key) 
3. go in virtual cockpit mode
4. find Polaris star in the sky

Best way to find Polaris in the sky at startup is to check your latitude of departure (if you start at Le Bourguet Paris your latitude will be 48.57 degree north !
so from Le Bourguet the Polaris star is at about 48.57 degree on the north direction.
measure the angle from the horizon at about 48.57 degree from the horizon  you will see a bright star, its Polaris, 
read the exact angle and subtract 1 degree 
exp: I have a measure of 50 degree on the sextant
take off 1 degree (Polaris is at 89 degree) you have 47.57 degree, you latitude is 47.57 degree north
of latitude on the hearth, simple ! 

note:
(microsoft have not incorporate the Polaris start in is flight simulator 2004 version
to remedy at that I have incorporate the file in a special folder in flight simulator main folder

in flight simulator-x Polaris star.dat file  is incorporate so no need to copy the file star.dat in flight simulator x

For fs2004 user only:
go in main fs2004/Star dat_fs2004 folder, and copy-paste the file star.dat in main flight simulator 2004 folder.


finding longitude whit the sun !
You can also find your longitude whit the sun !
When the Sun "passes your local meridian" (at noon) you can determine your exact longitude you only need to check your u.t clock watch: (incorporate in the plane)
if your u.t time is 3 p.m., you know that 3 hours ago it was noon at Greenwich and you are therefore at longitude 45 degrees west (one hour=15° x 3) 
you can also find your longitude when you know the elevation of the sun at pre-determinate time see the almanac below.

to find your exact position whit more precision i have also incorporate a reel sextant
made by Dave Bitzer and Mark Beaumont.

the advantage of this new sextant is that he can be installed on all flyable aircraft in microsoft flight simulator !

and have a complete instruction manual, that you can consult in flight via the kneeboard "reference" option (f10 key)
also include in the kneeboard "reference", website address where you can find start sun and moon position at any date and time 
and a lot of other interesting website including, runway info, weather, google search, etc etc...

History:
Derived from three-seater Levasseur PL4 (reconnaissance aircraft) of
the Naval Aviation, the PL8 "White Dove" is especially built by the firm of Pierre
Levasseur,for the raid PARIS - New York, envisage by Charles Nungesser and Franзois Coli. It is under the direction of the chief of studies Emile Farret and the
works manager Albert Longelot, that work for the realization of the PL8 was executate. For the achievement of the raid, the fuselage was widens in order to be able to placed in "coast at
coast" the pilot and the navigator, the hull was redrawn, the two front places are removed in order to be able to install the
three enormous tanks and to thus carry the capacity of fuel to the
4025 liters necessary to the long crossing envisaged." Nothing is left randomly, the engine is tested during 43 hours in Chartres, what makes it possible to the technicians to appreciate its
capacities, its consumption and to thus calculate the potential distance which it
can carry out with its fuel reserve.
