Performance:
Cutting corners was not what this model was about. I wanted an accurate 3d model and this resulted in a heavy mesh. Im one of the lucky souls that can run FS9 very smoothly. I get mid-high 20's bone stock. The 195 drags a little, but never below 20fps, but im sure some of you will have a hard time smoothing it out. I'll just point out a few things that really help my framerates.
lower mip mapping a few nothces
lower global texture quality
less autogen
Virtual cockpit gauge quality to low
put your water settings to low
Poly Count:
The exterior model weighs in at 25,000 polys. This is ony slightly above average and gmax does a good job of making high poly models run smoothly. 15k for the interior.
The biggest change i see in Framerates is caused by textures. This model has a soft spot in that area. I could have been more efficient in the texture mapping.
If you think a "lite" version, minus the VC and smaller textures is needed. Please email me and let me know.
