Well, MS did it again. With their new version of flight sim, they removed a good component. That component was the ability to use the mouse in Flight Sim 2002. I rarely use it myself and it was a bit shabby in 2000, not to mention giving your poor mouse rug burns on the mouse pad. However, for those of you who can't afford a joystick, or like to use FS at work (you know who you are!) this little program will help.

Using Pete Dowson's FSUIPC.DLL (which you'll need if you don't have it, get it at www.schiratti.com/dowson.html), this program will allow you to control your aircraft in FS. Unfortunately, because it's a separate program from FS, FS will have to be in window mode rather than full screen. Activate it, right-click with your mouse anywhere in the red area. You'll notice the white ball snaps and drags to your mouse. The program will work even if it doesn't have focus, so after you right click on it, click back onto FS and you can still move the ball by floating the mouse over the red area. This way you still have keyboard control of FS. If you right click again, the ball will snap back to the center and the air surfaces on your aircraft will re-align to the center (like releasing the joystick), but if you left click instead, it will hold it's position until you right click again.
