Russian airport names in English

Dear fellow simmers,

 

I have some Russian airports installed, where the authors (thanks, all you creative people!) have written the airport names in Cyrillic script, which doesn't show up too well on an English-language computer and FSX, but shows as question marks and other characters.

 

These airports are: UEEK, UEEX, UEML, UEMU, UEM1, UEQC, UEQD, UEQK, UEQM, UEQN, UEQ1 and UEQ2.

 

I have tried to Google these codes, but get no names.

 

If anyone can supply airport names, cities and state/provinces, I'd be most grateful, as now then I can see where I'm flying from.

Hello! I think, most of this codes are fictive ICAO codes (not all airfileds in ex-USSR have icao-code). But to add airport to FS, icao code are needed.

 

Try to use Wikimapia (http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=60.257189&lon=137.512779&z=13&m=b&search=UEML).

I founded next codes:

UEEX - Belkachi

UEML - Solnechny

UEQC - Ejanci

UEQK - Kypci

UEQM - Ust-Maya (Ust-Mile)

UEQN - Allakh-Yun

 

P.S. Airports are located in region of Sakha (Yakutiya), see north-east from lake Baykal :-)

Danm.... Wow.... thanks, guys for a VERY quick response!

 

UEM1, UEQ1 and UEQ2 may be navigational aids, or I have seen something like those with the comment "Flatten only".

Jorgen, sorry for late reply.

If you're going to continue searching Russian airports further on, you'd better use yandex.ru search system. It works better than Google for rare Russian things. At least all the airports you mentioned can be found through that system, except for those with figures (UEQ1 etc.)

The only problem is that the found sites will be in Russian language, so you will need to transliterate the airport names from cyrillics into latinics.
