Congratulations to russia for the successfull maiden flight :sarcastic:

What a nice plane and a real treat to see it fly, I really hope we get to see it over here in Germany. With the Tu-154 getting more and more rare over here, it is time for more russian birds in Europe's skies :)

Not so fast guys, that was just a first flight :) It's too early to talk about flights to Germany or somewhere else. There are a lot of test-flights ahead. I think we'll see it flying only after 3-5 years. We also have an example (etc Tu-334) which made its first flight long time ago but it still doesn't fly for Russian airlines. I really hope that SSj-100 would have different story and we will see it at different airports all over the world. :)

Well, I think we'll see it enter service within about a year if no probs arise. The first european customer - Itali-Airlines of (surprize :)) Italy - is scheduled to get their first SSJ in 2009, so the cannot afford to wait 3 years :)

Or it is secret information? :)

yep :sarcastic:

Although I am German, I lived for a time in russia. Went out with a russian girl for several years. She lived in Germany, but was from Ómsk. In 2003 we bought a flat in Uliza Dianova. I think she now still lives in Omsk. Things went pear-shaped when she decided two years ago to betray me with someone from Omsk (and take all my money while she was at it :) ) But nontheless, the people from Omsk are about the nicest I ever met. I guess the people in the 5-orochka magazin still know me for being the first man to try to buy "sveklo" while having forgotten the word. Took me quite a while to explain them what I wanted

I told them - хочу купить чё-то для борщ. Звучит как "зеркало".

I think they are still laughing today :)

Such a sad story about your girlfriend :sarcastic:

What about ''borsh'' and vegetable that you called "sveklo"... In russian it sounds like ''SVYOKLA''. :sarcastic:

But in russian slang we often call it "sveklA"

Surely, it will appear sometime. But first off all developers need specifications for the aircraft, good photoes and full information about all systems to make a really good simulation.

....and also developers will need to find the real SSJ's pilots for testing

Why? AFAIR, Alenia Aeronautica works in cooperation with Sukhoi as a post-sales service partner (along with Boeing), so there is not-so-strange thing...

True, but nontheless a russian aircraft being ordered by a west-european airline is something of a novelty, so there's hope that russias aviation industry will soon play on a level field with Boeing, Airbus, Embrear and Bombardier :)

I think last two - Embraer and Bombardier as a regional jets manufacturers.

I'm sure that SSJ will appear in russian airports much faster than Tu-334 (in two or three years). Somewhere I heard (or read) that SSJ is supported by our government. Government's support is a great power I suppose. :)
