Boeing 737 Next Generation (usually abbreviated to Boeing 737NG) - designation of models −600 / -700 / -800 / -900 of the Boeing 737. The series became the third generation of the 737 model and replaced the 737 Classic in production (−300 / -400 / - 500), which began production in the mid-1980s. The model is a short- and medium-haul narrow-body jet aircraft. Manufactured since 1996 by Boeing, the 737NG is sold in four seating capacities (typically 110 to 210 passengers).
On July 16, 2014, the 5000th copy of the 737NG model was rolled out . In total, more than 7000 orders have been received for aircraft of the 737 Next Generation family . The model is the main competitor to the Airbus A320 family.
In the coming years, it is planned to replace the Next Generation model with a Boeing 737 MAX
